Mitrans shall offer, to legal persons and naturals as well, a safe, satisfactory, environment-friendly, sustainable transport system, at the lowest possible cost.
This policy must be based on the following objectives:
Designing an efficient transport system, meeting the customer's needs and contributing to the continued development, on the basis of the environmental impact control.
Determining the basis needs for the private, public and cargo transport and gradually meeting, in terms of available resources, an acceptable standard of its development.
Developing a safe transport system, tending to reduce the accidents caused by human errors.
Contributing to develop a transport system that attains an inter-regional development harmonically and proportionally.
The Resolution 344/97 of the Ministry of Transportation sets up the implementation of the Quality Policy in the MITRANS.
At present, ISO 9000 Certification has been achieved, in the MITRANS, by the following entities:
- REGISTRO CUBANO DE BUQUES CUBAN REGISTRY OF VESSELS.
- CURACAO DRY DOCK.
- OFICINA DE LA EMPRESA NACIONAL DE ASTILLEROS OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL ENTERPRISE OF SHIPYARDS.
- BINAVAL BUREAU OF PROJECTS AND NAVAL ENGINEERING.
- SERVITALLY DAMAGE SURVEY.
- TRENA NAVAL RECONDITIONING WORKSHOP.
