Division of Passenger Transport

The specific duties of the Division of Passenger Transport are as follows:

1. Proposing and managing the application of the state policy over the organization, performance and control of the passenger traffic on the automotive, railway and maritime means.

2. Granting, changing, renewing, cancelling or suspending the licences and permits for passenger-transport service through the different means of transport in the country.

3. Providing the decisive elements to establish fares and conditions for the passenger-transport services.

4. Planning the standards, systems of standards and standardizing instructions, ruling the requisites, quality specifications and processes of services in the activity of passenger transport.

5. Deciding and taking part, whenever necessary, so as to place the public service of transportation of national interest because of national disasters or emergencies.

6. Studying, proposing and coordinating the introduction of new systems of collection, reservation and sale of tickets.

7. Studying and participating in the development of operative schemes, coordinated among railway, bus and cabotage for the purpose of the passenger transport.
