Division of Railway Transport
The specific duties of the Division of Railway Transport are as follows:
Proposing and managing the application of the state policy on the projection, construction, maintenance, repair, technical operation and strike-off of the railway rolling stock, the weighbridges, the communications, the signalling and other auxiliary means and facilities and of services related to the railway transport.
Proposing and managing the state policy for integrated development of the railway branch.
Proposing and managing the application of the state policy and participating in the tasks related to the environmental protection in the railway activity.
Granting, changing, renewing, cancelling or suspending the licences and permits for the construction, revamping and operation of works, facilities and railway-transport means, as well as for auxiliary and railway-transport-related services.
Taking part in the analyses and assessments to grant licences and permits for the services of cargo and passenger railway transportation, expressing its opinion on the suitability, conditions and technical requirements of the means and facilities to be used.
Defining and setting up the technical methodologies and standards, as well as the proceedings of authorization in the railway branch.
Guiding and controlling the preparation of the integrated development programs and schemes of the railway branch and expressing its opinion on its approval.
Checking the Central Registry for railway rolling stock in the national railway system and issueing as many certifications and authentications as required.
Assisting and developping as a representative of the Ministry of Transportation the relations and the collaboration with national and international bodies, organizations and institutions, concerning the railway activity and promoting the celebration of technical and scientific events in this branch.
