Construction
of accommodation capacities (various marketing modalities) in tourist development regions,
mainly in currently least developed regions with a high growth potential.
In
order to cater for 7 million tourists by 2010, it is necessary to build around
80,000 hotel rooms during this decade.
The
main regions are: Havana, Varadero, Jardines del Rey (King’s Gardens), Northern
Camagüey, Northern Holguin, Santiago de Cuba, Central South Coast and the Canarreos
Archipelago.
Development
of marinas (including construction of piers, infrastructure, catering services, nautical
hardware).
Construction
of golf courses, recreational marine parks. All linked to tourist development
projects.
